The curry flavor is also extra spicy, as food in Nagoya is known for having high spice levels. This dish came about from using the embankment of a pot to mix water with haccho premium miso to make miso oden. Slowly simmered for a long time with miso and sweet sake , the vegetables and meat become tender and infused with a powerful miso flavor. It’s matched well with a glass of rich sake, so doteni is a dish you’ll often find at izakaya in Nagoya.

The location was good for walking to different shopping and dining areas. We were in Nagoya just after the New Year holiday and many things were still closed, so we don't know what the neighborhood is like during a normal time. The city offers a bit of everything for people wanting to book a hotel in Nagoya. Whether someone wants to splurge and stay in a 5-star resort or book something more affordable, this city will be a great choice for every budget and traveler.
A Nagoya original when it comes to ramen are the so-called Taiwan Ramen. So are characterized by hot and spicy minced meat as a topping. The Taiwan Ramen itself is a typical ramen, i.e. a noodle soup. In the restaurant “Hanabi” an extremely delicious variation, the so-called Taiwan Mazesoba, was invented.
The large signpost at the starting point combined with the lampposts decorated in traditional Korean patterns make it easy to find. This newer market provides a closer experience to South 名古屋 韓国料理 Korea in modern day times. The location is very near Nagoya Train station. Lots of shopping malls and restaurants nearby. Family mart is just outside of the hotel, very convenient.
Eating outside is also something of a nice novelty! Be aware it can get busy, but definitely recommended. There was a small wait before we were seated due to it being so busy. It definitely helps to know Japanese but they also have an English menu. Overall a nice restaurant, I would visit again. Delicious👍🏼 Kishimen noodle is special Don’t have to queue, as I visit the restaurant at tea time.
During World War II, Osaka came under air raids in 1945 by the United States Army Air Forces as part of the air raids on Japan. On March 13, 1945, a total of 329 Boeing B-29 Superfortress heavy bombers took part in the raid against Osaka. According to an American prisoner of war who was held in the city, the air raid took almost the entire night and destroyed 25 square miles of the city. The U.S. bombed the city again twice in June 1945 and again on August 14, a day before Japan's surrender. The red paste at the top of the bowl in the picture is the “Karamiso”. There is both a ramen, or noodle soup, and a macesoba versions. Touristically certainly not as well known as other cities, Nagoya nevertheless offers tourist and culinary highlights and is worth a stay. The highlights are certainly red miso and miso katsu, a breaded pork with red miso sauce. We will discuss other local specialties in more detail elsewhere. Great hotel, great service, great location.
