In general, getting around is very simple using Taiwan's ➡️ EasyCard  or ➡️ IPass. Both of these cards work for all public transportation around the entire island. You can even use them to pay for items at convenience stores such as 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, HiMart, etc.
A local legend state that one day, 3 gods visited the island and left their footprints there. There are many water activities for the whole family, including swimming, water slides and much more.
The new train station is the most convenient place to rent a scooter, bicycle, or car. As you walk out of the station, cross the park and you’ll see plenty of options across the road. Taitung offers some of the most beautiful vistas in TaiwanTaitung 台東, Chinese for “East Taiwan”, is in the Southeastern corner of Formosa. Thanks to the large number of aboriginal groups in the area there are several different aboriginal restaurants in and around the city. Taitung is also home to a fair number of goat meat restaurants along Jhongjheng Rd. Located on the northern edge of Taiwan, just a quick trip from Taipei, Yangmingshan National Park offers a dose of nature for city-dwellers and those touring the bustling capital.

Taitung's night life has been described  as subdued, that may be true however there are of course some bars. What Taitung does have however, is a rather large number of cafes. Since Taitung County actually grows coffee beans it is also possible to find truly local coffee at several establishments. This Taitung-sized hypermarket should cover you for most of your daily needs and provides the best selection of imported food and drinks in town. From the north, the journey from Taipei takes 5½-7½ hr depending on the type of trains you take.
And seeing as we were ushering in the year of the pig, my brother wanted — and I quote — “a pig” for luck. Taiwan has a distinct tea culture; no doubt tea lovers will love Taipei. Even if there are some coffee  shops here and there, Taiwan is more of a tea-drinking country after all.

If none of these options are for you, you’re unfortunately stuck withhard-to-navigate busesandcheap taxis.Hitchhikingis also a viable option along the East Coast of Taiwan. The east coast of Taiwan is sparsely populated, with gorgeous mountains, making it an ideal location for the serious cyclist.
Walking along the East Coast Scenic Area, you may see Sanxiantai from afar. If you visit early in the morning, you can witness the Sunrise at Sanxiantai as well. The Amis is one of the largest tribes living along the East coast of Taiwan.
