This covalent linkage prevents migration and leaching of the organophosphorus compound. It is known that a modification of PUR systems with a polyol based on natural oils generally causes lower reactivity during the foaming process and such an effect was confirmed in our earlier studies . An interesting effect was observed in the case of replacing 50 wt% of the petrochemical polyols by BIOp. The modification of the PUR systems based on the petrochemical polyols with BIOp showed that the changes  in the reactivity were more significant in the case of the reaction mixtures based on ESTp. The curves of the dielectric polarization of PU/ETHp and PU/ETHp/BIOp were characterized by similar shapes.
In the context of NCO/OH molar ratio , it can be seen that the optimal ratio of isocyanate groups to hydroxyl groups is equal 1.05 for the polyurethanes obtained using of PEG or PEG/BDO mixture, and 1.00 for materials synthesized with using HDO as a chain extender. The equimolar ratio NCO/OH in the case of 1,6-hexanediol is connected with higher accuracy of the molecular weight determination than in case of poly, which is characterized by average molecular weight. Moreover, thermal properties and thermal stability were determined. It was also proved that the phase separation between the soft and hard segments was limited due to the increase in crosslinking density. As compared to SMPU crosslinked  with CO, the mechanical strength of SMPU crosslinked with COT was improved by 80%, while the elongation was decreased by about 26%. As a result of shape memory behavior analysis, it was confirmed that the outstanding SMPU can be synthesized using CO-based multifunctional polyols.
