It solidifies our relationship with Christ, builds trust, and is the “manual” we use to develop our transformed identity and find our Godly purpose. The greatest benefit is a stronger connection with God. Here are a few scriptures that remind me of the wisdom available through Jesus in the Bible. Many things in life are hard to totally understand until you experience them for yourself; such as marriage, parenthood, grief, and loss.
Lord God, thank you for this new day and the gift of love and friendship. We pray today for the safety of everyone. In particular, we pray for the safe travel of all, whether by air, sea or land. Send you holy angels to guide and protect them and their journey. May they reach their destination in safety and joy.
Almighty God, on this feast of the Holy Innocents, we weep for all children who have died, and for mothers and fathers and family members and friends who grieve for their children. Almighty God, winter in this corner of the Pacific Northwest can be a series of cold and gray days filled with seemingly endless rain. Please help me see and experience the warmth and light of your love this day; help me recognize the beauty all around me that I often take for granted. This discernment may be different for different believers. Some are able to maintain their faith in the midst of temptations and unbelief all around them, and others are not.
I actually couldn't wait for this book to be over and that is a rare occurrence when I am reading something written by Neal Donald Walsch. This book along with all of Neals books can change the course of humanity. For a moment forget everything you've every been told about God and life and just be open minded for a change.
Give me, amidst the confusions of my day, the calmness of the everlasting hills. Break the tensions of my nerves with the soothing music of the singing streams that live in my memory. Help me to seek you, to learn from you, to know you. I so often get caught up in my thoughts, my daily routine, and my circle of friends and family that I forget about everything else. I pray that in some small way my words and actions can lead others to a closer relationship with you. As I pray quietly alone at this sanctuary I know that I am not alone.
Instead, we are to comfort one another in faith, knowing that God rules over every aspect of our lives. The many types of work that women do from stay-at-home moms to working women inside or outside the home is not always easy. Many moms have only focused on the purpose of their role as a parent and homemaker. Often women only consider their purpose related to themselves as a business owner or employee. You may feel like you don’t have anything more of significance to offer beyond motherhood if you are a stay-at-home mom.

Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Like I said before, affirmations are based on YOUR strength, on what YOU can do, and what YOU are capable of doing. If regular affirmations tend to be quite effective, can you imagine how much more powerful affirmations would be if they were based on God’s Word? Now that’s what I call powerful affirmations.
Give me the grace of coming to know where my treasure is, to seek it and find it in my life. Throughout His life, Jesus touched others and healed broken bodies and broken hearts by His touch, by His concern, by His mercy. Oh Lord, my God, today Jesus tells the parable of the pearl of great price. Give me the grace today to recognize the message of the Gospel as that pearl of great price. Oh, Lord my God, You sent Your Son Jesus among us to call us to be co-workers for the sake of the Kingdom. Jesus was sent among us asking people in every age to leave what is comfortable and familiar and to share the hope we have found in Jesus’ Words and actions.
Therefore, I know that I am not completely lost, even when I experience a change in my life. You are with me and You remain the same, therefore, just as You were faithful and brought Abraham through a season of change, You will do the same for me, Amen. When you’re in the midst of a bout of depression or hopelessness or anxiety, it feels like you’re all alone. Like no one understands and like no one cares about you. But there is at least one person who deeply loves you and desires to comfort you, and that is God.
He might respond through a still small voice, or a Bible verse, or a song. Whatever you need, whatever you’re going through, God has a promise for you. The Little Lamb- We hope this message reminds you to help others. That’s why I press so hard for people to read God’s Word, to get filled with faith and then to act on that faith. People have found that, when they feed on God’s Word, believe on it and then ACT on it, that God is not limited by their age, sex, education or past failures.
Peter literally says, "Angels desire to look into these things." Can you imagine what that must be like? Angels are leaning over the rim of heaven and looking down. They have seen what God did with the prophets. They have seen how Jesus fulfilled the prophecies with His birth, life, death and resurrection.
Fruits and vegetables are ripe and ready to eat. Thank you for the bounty of the land, and for the gift of each day. Help us to be mindful of the gifts the earth provides us in every season, and may we share with one another the gifts you have given us. Lord, the beginning of each new season reminds me of the passage of time. Autumn, in particular, reminds me of my mortality and that one day you will call me – and those I love – home to you.
I need to think twice before responding to others without thinking. I want to act and be Your messenger in a world that can be harsh hearted. I ask this of you and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Of course, some people are not interested in Bible prophecy. But they should be, since it will affect their own lives, their families, their jobs, and their futures. There is a real God, and the Bible speaks for Him.
