Through play children learn to take risks, explore, experiment and learn about the world around them. We believe in real-world learning that is underpinned by children’s natural inquiry. Starting with what children are curious about, what they wonder about and what they think about allows us as a  teaching team to wrap the curriculum around learning in meaningful ways. The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) defines seven Quality Areas under the National Quality Standard (NQS) to ensure high standards of education and care in early childhood services.

All children enrolling in our early childhood education and care services must be up to date with their immunisation or have an approved exemption. A kindergarten program is run during long day care for 3-year-old and 4-year-old children enrolled in our long day care program. This funding is for children who are 3 and 4 years old in the two years before attending formal schooling and can only be accessed in one service.
At Wantirna South Early Learning Centre, we proudly offer fully funded Victorian Government ‘Free Kinder’ programs for 3 & 4 Year Old Kindergarten. Our Kindergarten is delivered within our integrated Long Day Care setting and led by Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teachers, ensuring a high-quality, play-based learning experience. I have been in the Early Childhood Industry, nurturing and developing young children for over 27 years.I have been here at Goodstart Wantirna for the past 18 years. Kinder Haven Wantirna has strong connections with local primary schools, with school visits to the kindergarten and opportunities for children to visit their future school environment. These experiences help children feel confident, prepared and excited about starting school.
We are committed to sustainability and deeply respect the natural environment. These values are woven into our daily teaching practices, helping children learn how to care for the world around them. We believe in a wide and varied program that requires specialised skills and as such we include the following additional programs for children throughout the week. These include but are not limited to cooking classes, art classes in our Atelier and a tailored community engagement program. We approach all our work with people with respect, ethics, integrity and empathy.

You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details. As your child prepares to head home, this is your opportunity to speak with our friendly educators about your child’s day and everything they learnt. Educators work closely with families to support each baby’s routines, comfort and developmental needs. Our goal is to nurture happy, healthy children and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

We offer funded kindergarten programs for both 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds, supporting local families with quality early childhood education.
