It is also the closest city to Hurricane Ridge, about a 45-minute drive. Self-serve permits are available from Olympic National Park at the Port Angeles Wilderness Information Center. Lake Angeles trips don’t require advance reservations, but if you want to talk to a ranger about trail conditions it’s worth stopping in at the ranger station to get your permit in person. All backpacking trips in Grand Valley require advance reservations, so contact the park ahead of time, or ask if there are any walk-up permits available at the WIC in Port Angeles. The wait staff and sushi chefs were in the main part of the restaurant when one of them looked toward me, said something, and then the other laughed. The discussion became louder to include the rest of the staff at which point they all laughed. The discussion continued for almost my entire time of dining there.

Hey Niki, Kalaloch is nice, but it really isn’t quite the same as the Hoh Rainforest and La Push beaches. You could totally do a day trip to either of those places from Kalaloch though, which is what we’d recommend in that scenario.
We had the lamb shoulder, gnocchi, king fish Ceviche, truffle fries. We had our family dinner here, good and fast service, not plenty of choice for dinner menu. And the background music is too loud and intense, not a proper fine dining music.
Ordered nuggets and chips for my kids, I don't know what they put on those chips but the flavours were amazing. Had a cheese pizza from the kids menu and they enjoyed that too. Great service from Angela and I believe what appeared to be the owner. Maharajas Indian Cuisine Olympic Park is a beloved dining spot known for its warm ambiance and delectable, freshly prepared Indian dishes.

I was hesitant at first because it’s far back on someone’s property but I took a chance and found paradise! The water, the sunset, and a bunch of people minding their own business. I’m keeping this spot a secret, but incase you’re a SFT, I gotchu. You pay a $5 “road use” fee to access the property.

There are many short trails right off Highway 101 that allow access to the beach. You can also stay at Kalaloch Lodge, which offers cabins and rooms that look out over this magnificent beach . The beach itself features enormous, beautiful cliffs and stellar ocean views.
Most of the dog friendly trails are VERY short and being that Tuna is 40% Border Collie we needed something a little more substantial. This was the perfect spot to burn some energy and gain some lake access for our water-obsessed pup. There are accessible lookout points at Ruby Beach and Beach 4.Kalaloch is known for birding; species such as western gulls and bald eagles are frequently sighted. Swimmers should also be aware of potentially dangerous rip tides. Since it’s been a long day, I recommend hiking the Quinault Rainforest Nature Loop trail to experience this temperate rainforest.
